How Pinard handles information in the app.
Last updated: March 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pinard ("the app") handles information when you use the iOS app. Pinard stores and syncs app data using Apple's CloudKit service so your information can stay available across your Apple devices.
Information We Collect
Pinard does not have app-specific user accounts, and we do not collect data for advertising, marketing, or analytics.
To provide storage and sync, the app stores the data you enter, such as wine cellar entries, notes, bottle locations, tags, URLs, and app settings, on your device and in your private iCloud storage through Apple's CloudKit service when iCloud is available and enabled for the app.
How We Use Information
We use app data only to operate the app's features, store your content, and keep it synchronized across your Apple devices. We do not use your data for analytics, advertising, profiling, or marketing.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party analytics providers. To provide syncing and cloud storage, app data is transmitted to and stored by Apple through CloudKit and iCloud. Pinard does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or non-Apple external APIs or services.
Data Retention
We do not operate our own servers to store your app data. Data you enter in the app remains on your device and, when syncing is enabled, in your iCloud storage until you delete it in the app or remove it through the Apple tools and settings available for your iCloud account. Removing the app from a device may not by itself delete copies already stored in iCloud or on your other synced devices.
Security
Pinard uses Apple's CloudKit and iCloud services for remote storage and synchronization. The security of synced data therefore depends in part on Apple's iCloud protections and on your device and Apple Account security settings.
Children's Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13. Pinard does not create app-specific accounts or knowingly solicit personal information directly from children.
Your Choices
You can use the app without creating a separate Pinard account. iCloud syncing depends on your Apple Account and device settings. You can manage iCloud access and storage through Apple's settings, and you can delete app data from within the app. If you want synced data removed from your devices and iCloud storage, deleting the data in the app is the most direct method.
